Beginner Course Guidelines:

  • Attend two to three times a week on a six-week intro pass.
  • Choose your first session from our regularly scheduled slots. Preferably start close to:
    • 6:00 PM Mon, Thu.
    • 7:00 PM Mon, Thu.
    • Appointment will be confirmed to insure you get maximum attention.
  • After a few sessions you will have more freedom to start at any time without a reservation.
  • Individual instruction. Practice at your own intensity.
  • If you have been taking yoga classes for years, and are new to Mysore-style practice, this is the next step to deepening your existing practice.
  • If you are new to yoga in general, this is a good beginner practice - it is strengthening, progressive, and very therapeutic.

Length of Practice

  • Beginners: practice approximately 30 - 45 minutes
  • Intermediate to Advanced: practice approximately 45 - 105 minutes

Start anytime. You practice during your scheduled appointment time-slot with close supervision. Practice time varies with the individual. The teacher guides your use of time appropriate to your practice.

Vinyasa is an ongoing flow and increasingly challenging progression without rest! We take rest at the end of the practice.

First time at Simply Yoga? What is Mysore-style practice?

Our classes are not like regular classes where the teacher leads a group of people who are all doing the same thing at the same time. When you first arrive for practice you are guided to take a spot. The instructor works with you individually at a level of personal practice that is right for you.

Regardless of your age, illness, injury, experience, or lack thereof, we are there to help you find a confident and steady self-practice.

The instructor will supervise and fine-tune your practice, introducing you to new techniques and poses as you are ready.

Notes and Moon Days as of Spring 2008.

Moon Days 2008

In keeping with tradition, if you are practicing four to six days a week, it is prescribed that you not practice on the new and full moon:

6/3 Tuesday New
6/18 Wednesday Full
7/2 Wednesday New
7/18 Friday Full

We are open during moon days that fall on our regular schedule to benefit those practicing less often. Women should refrain from practicing during the first three days of the menstrual cycle.
